      Lawn Maintenance:

      • During growing season, mow your lawn weekly. This is every 7 days.  Do not allow it to go 10, 12, or 14 days.  That allows the grass to get too tall and is actually bad for the grass.
      • Do not blow grass clippings into the street.  They should be left on your lawn as they help to feed the soil.  If you have a layer of clippings laying on your lawn, that means you waited too long to mow and you should mow more often.
      • Edge your driveway and sidewalks at least 2 times per month.  Weekly is preferred.
      • Pull the weeds out of planting beds on a weekly basis. If you don’t, they take root and are even harder to remove.
      • Trim shrubbery so that it looks maintained and not allowed to grow above windows.  Large shrubbery can be attractive to burglars.
      • Treat your lawn for weeds and feed your lawn as recommended on the attached flyers.  They were prepared by the NC State University & NC A&T University to optimize lawn growth in this area.
